BACK to SCHOOL:
MENTAL WELLNESS

This year students, teachers and staff are looking forward to be back in real classrooms. Returning to routines and rules of school can be a huge shift after living in a virtual world for the better part of the last 2 years. Parents, as well as students will also be feeling  anxiety, stress and uncertainty. Children need to connect with parents and care givers to validate their feelings and reinforce their resolve. We may also experience feelings of melancholy this time of year known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Here are some tips to help focus on the positive and facilitate happy healthy communication and success!

Please be aware that while these links below may direct you to sites in which you can connect with providers, it is always best to seek out providers through the Beacon network to ensure coverage by calling Beacon at 855-748-3121.

BEACON WELLBEING
"Heading back to school can be an exciting and stressful time for both children and parents. Kids may feel anxious or overwhelmed as they prepare for new routines, teachers, and classmates. Major transitions like moving to a new city or entering grade school, middle school, or high school for the first time can amplify the stress."
