Work and Training Opportunities

5/30/24
OUT OF TOWN WORK OPPORTUNITY: Members who would like to work out of state should go to the MEMBERS ONLY page. Serious members can contact our main office to speak to someone about working as a traveler. Remember if you would like to work in another location, you have to speak directly with the FST/Recording Secretary Sal Starace BEFORE you go. Also, keep in mind you will not lose your spot on the RH List. This is an excellent opportunity for those to maintain their benefits while out of work here. |
If you are a SMART Sheet Metal Member who is out of work, and willing to travel to the jurisdiction of other local unions to work, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL UNION OFFICE. You may also check with the SMART Job Bank:

The International Training Institute, ITI, currently provides many courses for our members to take either online or in person. Local 28 encourages all of our members to take advantage of this opportunity. Successful completion of courses such as Fire and Fire Smoke Damper Technician, Smoke Control System Technicians (SCST) and Indoor Air Quality Technicians will lead to certifications. These certifications may lead to more work opportunities for our members as they will be in need by many of our contractors in the near future. For more information, please visit the ITI Online Classes
