The Role of Local 28’s Political Action Team (PAT28)
Union leadership plays a vital role in protecting members' rights—not just in negotiations but also through legislative action. At Local 28, we take this responsibility seriously by actively engaging with State, City, and Local elected officials throughout the year.
Protecting collective bargaining rights
Upholding strong labor standards in legislation
Promoting incentives for Project Labor Agreements (PLAs)
Ensuring and enforcing prevailing wage laws
Addressing other key issues impacting our livelihoods
The Political Action Team of Local 28 (PAT28) works year-round to advocate for our members. Our efforts include:
One-on-one meetings with policymakers
Attending public hearings
Promoting incentives for Project Labor Agreements (PLAs)
Coordinating letter campaigns
Using multiple communication channels to push for change
Covering a large territory requires a dedicated team. We invite any member who wants to contribute to our advocacy efforts to contact our office at 212.941.7700 and speak with Political Director Anthony Guerrero.
